On June 5, 2017, the pro-ISIS Al-Battar media organization published a response to UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s June 4 speech following the previous day’s London Bridge vehicular and stabbing attack, in which she stressed the need to step up efforts to prevent extremist ideology from being disseminated online. In its response, Al-Battar stated that the media jihad was no less important than the jihad on the battlefield, and called for its media activists to disregard May’s statements and to intensify the use of social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Telegram, and so on, and also of the relevant jihadi forums.
