Kavkaz Center Accuses Russian Cybersecurity Firm Of Launching Ongoing DDoS Attacks Against Its Website Using ‘Kaspersky Antivirus’ Software

On August 19, 2012, the Kavkaz Center (KC), a website affiliated with the Caucasus Emirate (CE), claimed that Eugene Kaspersky, head of Russia’s largest cybersecurity firm, Kaspersky Lab, was a KGB (i.e. FSB) agent and that he was behind the ongoing DDoS attacks against the KC website “using zombie computers infected with his ‘Kaspersky anti-virus’ [software].”[1]
