Saudi Arabia Threatens Social Media ‘Rumor Mongers’ With Death Penalty

The Saudi Ministry of Justice told the state-run Makkah Newspaper that citizens engaging in spreading rumors about the government on social media could face the death penalty. An unnamed source in the ministry said that only the worst offenders would be sentenced to death, while others could face disciplinary action such as flogging, imprisonment, travel bans, house arrest, and fines.
