Pakistan Uses Social Media To Turn Public Opinion In Kashmir Against State

On April 1, 2017, it was reported that Pakistan’s government was attempting to use social media to turn public opinion of civil society in Kashmir Valley against the state’s government and security forces. The publisher of the report claims to be in possession of “social media publicity material” stating the dates of social media workshops in various parts of Pakistan aimed at organizing cyber warfare against India. One message regarded as particularly important said that the only thing required to wage cyber war in the Kashmir Valley was a phone and an internet connection.
