Online Jihadis Target U.S. State Department Digital Outreach Team’s YouTube Channel

December 14, 2011

On December 11, 2011, several members of the Shumoukh Al-Islam jihadi forum, a top-tier Al-Qaeda website, began discussing ways to target videos appearing on the U.S. State Department Digital Outreach Team’s (DOT) YouTube channel.

The DOT’s YouTube channel includes over 100 videos. The two most recently uploaded videos on the channel deal with the Arab Spring, and with the Somali Al-Qaeda-affiliated group Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen.
