On January 23, 2017, the pro-Islamic State (ISIS) hacking group United Cyber Caliphate (UCC) released a 26- page PDF guide on how to securely navigate Windows 10. The post on their Telegram channel is titled “Security Tips.”
The guide notes that users can also be spied on with Windows 7 and 8.1, and links to an earlier manual on how to fix a system to prevent this.
The following report presents examples of the tips contained in the “Security Tips” guide.
“By default, Windows sends a lot of your information to their servers sometimes without asking you to opt-in.”
