Article In AQAP Weekly Acknowledges Wide Use Of Snapchat Among Fighters In Syria, Warns Of Security Concerns

Issue 28 of the Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) weekly newspaper Al-Masra featured a small item discussing the use of Snapchat among the mujahideen in Syria.

The article acknowledged that the app is used by fighters in Syria, especially among those from the Arabian Peninsula, and added that the app’s use is a relatively new phenomenon among fighters.

It further noted that content is shared daily by the mujahideen, and includes, inter alia, da’wa and calls for jihad segments, and reports about their daily hardships.
