On March 16, 2015, the Turkish hacker group RedHack was acquitted of terrorism charges by the Ankara public prosecutor due to lack of evidence. The 10 members were indicted for hacking various Turkish government websites, as well as the website for the Turkish police, the Turkish national petroleum company OPET, and other public utility websites. However, the public prosecutor said that there was no firm evidence tying the members to the crimes committed.
