Between March 19-29, 2015, the “ISIS Cyber Army” , a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) hacking group defaced five different websites –a French investment consulting firm, three Egyptian sites and a Russian site. This is the second hacking of a French website in the space of a few weeks signaling an escalation of cyber warfare by pro-jihadi hackers.
A pro-ISIS hacking group took credit on Twitter and on a pro-ISIS forum. The websites’ home page were defaced with an ISIS flag, signed “Hacked by Islamic State” and provided a Twitter handle as well as an email address on a Russian server. When the hacked page is accessed, an ISIS religious song can be heard in the background titled “Qariban Qariban” [Soon Soon].
