Indian Cabinet Approves Cyber Security Deal With UAE

On March 10, 2016, the Indian cabinet approved a Memorandum of Understanding between India and the UAE to cooperate in efforts to combat cyber crime. The MoE involves information sharing in efforts to combat cyber crime and cross-training in cyber crime investigation. It was also reported that the American defense contractor Raytheon signed a deal to supply the UAE with solutions to handle challenges posed by cyber crime. Raytheon president Christopher Davis, who recently attended a security forum in the UAE, said: “We have seen in recent years, cyber warfare and cyber crime are on the rise, and present a global challenge… In the 21st century, cyber security is increasingly becoming synonymous with national and global security as a whole.”
