On June 13, 2015, the head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization, Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali, commented on the recent hack of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and said that the U.S. is among the most vulnerable state in terms of cyber-defense.

In a press conference in Tehran, Jalali also referred to President Obama’s instructions to impose sanctions on any country that launches cyber-attacks on the U.S., and expressed fear that Washington could be plotting to frame Iran for cyber-attacks in order to impose new sanctions, “similar to what Washington has done to North Korea.”
